Connecticut Archaeology Awareness Month (AAM) is an annual iniative held in October. It is aimed at educating the general public on the cultural diversity, fragility and importance of the state's archaeological resources, and the need for preservation of archaeological sites in our state. AAM celebrates Connecticut's Native American, European American and African American heritages through site tours, posters, exhibits, presentations, and other activities sponsored by organizations throughout the entire state, and features events for people of all ages. AAM is a collaboration between the Museum's Connecticut Archaeology Center and the Connecticut Commission on Culture and Tourism (CCT).

If you have an interest in hosting an AAM event and would like to be considered for inclusion in our schedule of events, please contact Dave Poirier at CCT's Historic Preservation and Museum Division here.
